Malaysian Food and Beverages (F&B) industry is recognised as a rapidly expanding sector and a major contributor to the nation’s economy. In 2018, the industry was valued at approximately RM 180 billion and recorded an annual growth rate of 7.6%, highlighting its strong market potential and continued expansion. The sector plays a vital role in supporting national income and employment across the country. Malaysia’s F&B industry is highly diverse, offering a broad range of processed foods that cater to Asian tastes and dietary preferences, alongside a growing selection of Western-style products. The market is largely driven by small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), which form the backbone of the industry. In addition, numerous foreign and multinational companies operate manufacturing facilities in Malaysia, contributing to technological advancement and global market reach. The sector covers a wide variety of product categories, including cocoa and chocolate, fisheries, cereals, processed fruits and vegetables, confectionery, food ingredients, herbs and spices, beverages, animal feed, and more.

Entry Requirements

Possess Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) with a minimum of three credits in any subject, or its equivalent; OR A pass in Sijil Tinggi Persekolahan Malaysia (STPM) with a minimum of Grade C (GP 2.00) in any subject, or its equivalent;OR A pass in Sijil Tinggi Agama Malaysia (STAM) with a minimum grade of Maqbul in any subject or its equivalent;OR A pass Sijil Kemahiran Malaysia (SKM) Level 3 in a related field subject to the approval of Senate/ Academic Board;OR A Certificate (Level 3, Malaysian Qualifications Framework (MQF) in related field or its equivalent; OR Other equivalent qualifications recognized by the Government of Malaysia.
